Eidskog Bygdetun – Almenninga
Eidskog Museum's main facility is Eidskog Bygdetun – Almenninga. The farm was probably cleared already around the year 1000. Today, Almenninga consists of the two remaining yards – Austun and Vestun. In the houses there are exhibitions and period interiors.
Family friendly with cozy garden, café, pets and own swimming area.
The garden contains many bountiful perennial beds and cozy seating. There are livestock both inside and outside the ski farm. In the café you can enjoy coffee and something to eat.
Almenninga also has its own swimming area and universally designed fishing pier at the river.
Gaustadsjøsaga at Skotterud
Eidskog has long traditions in forestry and sawmilling, and Eidskog Museum has preserved and restored the old saw by Gaustadsjø at Skotterud. Here you can experience a real steam saw in operation and maybe take a rest in the sawmill.
The School Museum at Matrand
In the School Museum at Matrand, a lot of local school history is collected. There is also its own exhibition hall. The museum is located in the middle of the cultural-historically interesting environment with the church, monument, trenches and station buildings. This was the original center of Eidskog.
