Kongsvinger Fortress Museum
The museum on the fortress of Kongsvinger lies in the old house for supplies from 1682. You will find three exhibitions situated on three floors. If you would like a guided tour on the actual fortress you may contact the organisation behind the museum - "The Friends of the Fortress" who manage the guiding for individiuals as well as groups upon request.

The Friends of the Fortress is a non-profit organization started in 2000 by then commander at the fortress Helge Thomassen.
The organization has over 200 members, and among other things you may find a landscaped cultural trail around the fortress. There are three picnis areas with benches and large info signs. Along the trail you may find old redoubts named "Prince Fredrics battery", "Norwegian Lion", "Look to the right" and "Prince Christian August".
