Kongsvinger Association of Art was founded in 1978 by the artist Rolf Grude.
The association's first premises were located in Jonas Lies gate in Kongsvinger. After a few years (1982), the association rented beautiful premises in Aamodtgården in Øvrebyen in Kongsvinger.
The owner of the farm is a foundation under Kongsvinger Museum. The art association received support from Arts Council Norway for the renovation of the premises, in addition to great voluntary efforts by members and the board at that time.
