The land of peace - Morokulien

The name Morokulien is created of the norwegian and swedish words for "fun" (moro and kul).The land of peace consists today of the majestetic Peace Monument, the Peace Bell, the Peace Park with trees planted by different politicians, Brennastua and the radiostation.

Description

The Peace Monument
The Peace Monument was raised in 1914, and was an initiativ from the peace movements in both Norway and Sweden, 100 years after 1814 and a hundred years with peace between our two countries. More than 12.000 people, joined the opening.

The Peace Park
The Peace Park is a development of the peace concept around the Peace Monument. Different ministers have planted a tree there as a symbol of community in the sign of peace.

The Peace Bell
In 2014 there was erected a Peace Bell in the Peace Park. This is one of three peace bells with a special history, where the two others are at Voksenåsen in Oslo, and in Hwacheon on the border between South-/ and North-Korea. It is in the Peace Bell Park, where there are a collection of peace bells.
